UPDATE:
Well...holy crap, it's done! :O_o: I'm a bit sad I couldn't get around to having the really badass awesome action shot I'd originally planned, but at least now you get some kind of visual idea as to what it looks like when Dylan touches something.

And I know she just have physical, skin-on-skin contact for her ability to work. You can't see it, but the "glove" portion of her suit is actually made of a fabric that has miniscule holes. They're invisble to the human - or monster - eye, but are still big enough that Dylan's actual skin comes in contact with whatever her hands touch.

Ability: Sclerotization
Benefit 1: can turn objects (both animate and inanimate) to stone* with the slightest touch

Weakness/Drawbacks:
:bulletgreen: effects are not permanent**
:bulletgreen: there must be physical (as in, skin on skin) contact between Dylan and the object/opponent she wishes to turn
:bulletgreen: there is no controlling this ability; there is no “switch” that Dylan can flick to decide whether or not to use her power on an individual***

*by stone, I really mean that the outer lining of the object/life form hardens; therefore she can't kill her opponents, because their organs, etc. are still able to function, they just can't move

**but the duration of her ability's effects are linked to her mood/emotional state; the more angry Dylan is, the stronger the effects of her ability
-----> so, if she's really mad when she happens to touch, her "victim" remains hardened for a longer period of time than they would if she'd accidentally brushed them or something similar)
***because Dylan can't decide whether or not to use her ability, she must cover every possible inch of skin she can to avoid accidentally hardening something

Okay, okay...I know I should finish Mariana's first. But I just can't help it when I'm struck with a sudden inspiration! I need to get the idea down and solidified before it has time to leave me. :XD:

So, the basic story behind all this is I was sitting in my BIOL 108 lecture, and my professor was talking to us about arthopods, and how they moult and grow new skin. How fascinating, right? Anyways, she's going through the steps and gets to this process called sclerotization, where the newly formed exoskeleton of an insect hardens. Now, don't ask me why, but I was suddenly struck with an idea: OMFG, THAT WOULD MAKE AN AWESOME MUTANT POWER, BEING ABLE TO HARDEN THINGS!

I chose to have Dylan come from Norway because...well, she was inspired by Nordic vikings, for crying out loud! I specifically chose Stavanger because it was the first city/place given a name in the "Viking Age" section of Norway's Wikipedia page.

Her codename's exoskeleton because that's what hardens during sclerotization. So think of it like she's an Exoskeleton, but that hardens other things? :hmm: I dunno, it really just sounded like a badass codename that still related to the process. :XD:

I know right now that she'll have an Exolution suit, because I like being able to throw in colors of my choice that relate to be characters! :la: I haven't designed it yet, because I came up with the idea for her ability about an hour ago...but, I know that she'll have 95% of her skin covered, and there'll be some kind of shield-type padding...somewhere (like an armour exoskeleton on her suit! :meow:).
