MHOC: Rebecka Colt Bio

Well, here's my latest MHOC offering, Rebecka Colt. I know, I know...I said I wouldn't make up anyone new until I'd finished drawing/coloring my other ones...but it's just so damn addicting!

Like Azazel and Lilith, Rebecka spawned from my infatuation with Supernatural. I found myself thinking today: "What would happen if Sam or Dean went to Monster High?"

If you know the show, the answer's pretty obvious.

I was also feeling a bit sad for Jackson. Sure, he's got the Jekyll-Hyde bit going on, but he's still human. And therefore, he's also quite isolated amongst his monstrous peers. So, I decided he needed a little human comapny. Hence, Rebecka. But I also knew that no "ordinary" human would do; they needed some kind of monster-connections........and what better way to do that than make up a hunter OC?!

Rebecka is a descendent of Samuel Colt (in the show, he's the guy who creates "the colt," a gun whose bullets can kill any supernatural creature), because I wanted to make her a bit more original than just "________ Winchester." Plus, I think it's a crime to try and fuck around with the Winchester family and throw in a new family member, OC or not. Also, Rebecka's a descendent because Colt died in 1862, so if she were his daughter...well, she'd have to be like a ghost. And I wanted a human!

Her name is Rebecka, which means "servant of god." If you've ever taken the time one day to search the meanings of the show's characters, you'll happily find that many pertain in some way to God, the Bible, etc. So I just opened up a name meaning site (Google is your friend, always) and searched for names with a meaning relating to "God." There were several hundred, but I liked "Rebecca" best. Then I decided to spell it "Rebecka," because I like funky spellings.

I tried to make her personality/character pay homage to Supernatural. So her "fashion sense" parallels that of most of the show's characters (FYI: she'll also be sporting an amulet identical to Dean's). She drives a '67 Chevy Impala, because I frackin' LOVE that car! She has a golden retriever named Bones, because in Season 5's "Dark Side of the Moon," we learn that Sam once had a similar dog with the same name. Oh, and she digs classic 70's rock music.

I'm really looking forward to drawing her, and I think she's got some awesome potential! And I'll add now that I have at least four more MHOCs in the works. Bios with be appearing soon. Sketches, well...they'll appear when they appear. I refuse to try and give myself a due date because I know I won't meet it.

Watermarking is there to prevent little fuckers (like from www.monsterhighdolls.com ) from trying to claim Rebecka as theirs. Take that, you fucking art thiefs!
