MonsterHigh OC: Sheba O'Waille

Here's Sheba, all done up and pretty!

I'm really pleased with how she turned out, and I honestly don't have one nit-pick about the final product (usually I do ), so that's a very good thing! ^^

For anyone who doesn't already know, Sheba is a banshee. "Oh but Holly," you say, "she doesn't look like a ghost/spirit!" Well duh, most banshee MHOCs do...so I decided to take the road less travelled. Sheba was created specifically as my "MHOC that pays homage to my history." I'm Scottish and Irish, so a banshee seemed like the perfect monster to go with. She's got the classy tartan and of course FLAMING GINGER HAIR! The heels on her shoes are wood, in case you're wondering.

And I know she looks more "human" than most banshees, but that's perfectly fine by me! Who says they all have to be white/grey-skinned with black/dark or white/light-colored hair?! (okay, so maybe banshee myth describes them that way most of the time, but I'll take originality in this case)

Again, I can't express how much I adore Paint Tool SAI for outlining. If I could repeat one thing over and over again, that might just be it (er, okay...so it'd probably be an HP quote in all fairness, but you get my drift). The lines are sooo smooth, and it looks so much better! However, I'm not about to forget GIMP entirely...I mean, I've been using GIMP for over a year now to do all my digital work, and it never failed (maybe it wasn't the best, but it definitely worked). So what you see in Sheba is a combination of both GIMP and Paint Tool SAI. All the line art was done in the latter, but all the coloring was done in GIMP. Sorry SAI, but your weakness if that you don't do transparent backgrounds. And I like my transparent backgrounds.

_{Next up will be Kelsie Nix...seriously, I'm on a roll! And I'm telling you all now: Kelsie is going to have green skin (homage to scottish lochs) and black/white hair (to include both of the common coat colors described in kelpie mythology). I know what you're all thinking, but the first person who tells me "OMFG, THOSE ARE FRANKIE'S COLORS" ...well, I'm going to tell you to fuck right off. To be honest, I don't care. I was thinking of her colors (I decided a long time I ago I didn't like the green hair and green skin that I gave her using the Monsterfy Yourself! app) and it was after I thought "Oh, black and white would work perfectly for her hair!" that I even remembered Frankie. It's not unoriginality at work, but simply someone trying to ensure their MHOC does justice to the myth of the monster...and let's be honest, a vast majority of MHOCs here on DA and everywhere else tend to lack that certain train of thought.}
